Hi Peer, Yes, like elsewhere in the API if you don't send a field in the request then that field isn't updated. So not including a bid field in the request will leave the bid untouched.
To remove a bid set at the keyword level (bidSource = CRITERION) you must set the bid amount to 0. This will cause the ad group level bid (bidSource = ADGROUP) to be used instead.
