One disadvantage of uploading conversions is that Google Ads needs 4-6 hours after the ad click before a conversion can be successfully uploaded as you can see from a tip in this article. You may also check this link for more information regarding offline conversion imports and this link for more information how to set up offline conversion tracking.. If you would like to upload conversions via API, then I suggest you check this link for an overview of conversion management in the API.
