Please note that some Ad Extensions are deprecated. We recommend that you migrate to Assets as soon as possible. With regards to your concern, Asset based extensions are the recommended approach, since Extension setting services and Feed services are already depreciated. There are two steps in creating an asset-based extension, first is to create a new asset and second is associate the asset with a campaign, ad group, or customer.
