Hi David , thanks for the response.

Regarding the missing information. It shouldn't matter what I send , it 
doesn't matter if the information is missing . For this set operation I get 
an error message in response but once I set  <validateOnly>true</validateOnly> 
I don't get anything and I expect
to get exactly the same response with the same error message , no ?

Anyways your suggested example really helped and it's a better solution !

Just for future this bug is still relevant and might be encountered by 
people who are trying to do something else.
