I wonder why you want to know that kind of information? Do you want to 
develop a library for us and determine how big your market is?
For the real number you've got to contact Google, but I doubt they will 
give you that information.
 
To get a ballpark figure, look at the client libraries. At least the .NET 
client library has a download page, and on that page the number of 
downloads is shown... got the idea? Make sure you look at the older 
versions too, not everybody is upgrading to the latest version asap. And 
don't forget the other client libraries.
 
But please do tell why you want to know this!
