Please follow the instructions for applying for API access<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/signingup>to initiate the token application process. Note that while you are waiting for your developer token to be approved you can use a test account to try out the API <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/test-accounts>against test AdWords accounts. Regarding your question on retrieving statistics for your campaigns and ads, the various performance reports listed under the AdWords API Report Types documentation<https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports>should cover what you need, but please let me know if you have further questions.
