Hi Berry, advertisingChannelSubType <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201409/CampaignService.Campaign#advertisingChannelSubType> simply provides an additional refinement over advertisingChannelType <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201409/CampaignService.Campaign#advertisingChannelType> when specifying the primary serving target for ads within this campaign. It is not the same setting as what you see on the AdWords UI as campaign subtype.
The UI's campaign's subtype is a flag to organize the campaign settings so that it makes more sense to the UI user. That setting doesn't matter to the API or for serving purposes. Cheers, Anash P.
