You can use this as a reference and make necessary changes to get the data you need for the required report type.
One of the reasons for the empty report could be that the rows selected have zero impressions, in which case these will not be returned. To include zero impressions in your report output, set the includeZeroImpressions HTTP header <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/reporting#request-headers> to true.
