Hi Matt, You are correct: you can only use the extension setting services with the default, system-defined Feed <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201609/FeedService.Feed> for each placeholder type <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/placeholders>. This will be the feed with origin = ADWORDS <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201609/FeedService.Feed#origin> .
If you want to use feed items from a different feed for a particular placeholder type + campaign or ad group, you will have to use feed services <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/feed-services>.
