Hi, Basically, the AdWords API can be used by anybody who wishes to utilize its many features and services for commercial or learning purposes. Users will need to sign up <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/signup> for an MCC account and acquire a developer token. For development in the production environment, users are required to apply for basic access <https://services.google.com/fb/forms/newtoken/> while individuals who wish to learn more about the AdWords API first can opt to develop using test accounts <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/first-api-call#create_test_accounts>. Users will then need to generate their OAuth2 credentials <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/authentication> and download the client library <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/first-api-call#get_a_client_library> of their choice.
As for getting keyword ideas similar to the Keywords Planner in the AdWords UI, you may then use the TargetingIdeaService <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201708/TargetingIdeaService> and you may refer to this guide <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/targeting-idea-service> as to how.
