Hello Sam, Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the TargetingIdeaService <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201809/TargetingIdeaService> will offer exactly identical results to the keyword planner on the web interface. The Targeting Idea Service may return the stats of the close variant which is the corrected/valid keyword. Please take a look at this thread <https://groups.google.com/forum/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer#!msg/adwords-api/DigKh010Y1k/nimXcb0ICQAJ> which explains the behavior in detail. You could follow the suggestion on that thread as it may be helpful. Our team is aware of this feedback and is looking into it. At this point, we do not have a timeline for this feature to be available. Please keep an eye on our blog <https://ads-developers.googleblog.com/search/label/adwords_api> for updates and announcements.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. Regards, Sai Teja, AdWords API Team.
