Hi Mat, Sorry, I may not have been clear. I pointed to the GSuite Help Community because Google Groups is part of GSuite, not because there is an issue with your specific GSuite settings.
The appearance of emails in the message digest or messages you follow is a feature of Google Groups and we cannot change that setting as the group owners. I've attached a screenshot of a relevant note that appears in the administrator page.
