Subject: Please remove me from this list!

I've tried several routes and I can't to seem to escape the incessant - How many angels can dance on the head of the aesthetic pin - discussion. Release me!

Snarky I know, but I'm frustrated.

1. BROADCASTING A MESSAGE

To send a message to all the people currently subscribed to the list,
send mail to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.

(a) Broadcasting News Items

To make sure all subscribers receive news items, you must begin the
Subject: line of your message with the word "News:" (don't forget the
colon). For example, your Subject: line might look like this:

Subject: News: call for papers at the American Society for Aesthetics

2. SETTING OPTIONS

Your subscription to Aesthetics-L has several useful options. You can set
them either by visiting the list's web page at:

<aesthetics-online.org>

or by sending commands by email.

3. SENDING COMMANDS

<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> is called the "list address". Never
try to send any command to this address, as it would be distributed to
all the people who have subscribed. All commands must be sent to the
"listserv address," <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. Think of the mailing list as
a newspaper. Sending a message to the "list address" is like sending a
letter to the editor: it will be published and possibly read by all
subscribers. Sending a message to the "listserv address" is like
contacting the subscription department, e.g. to tell them you're going on
holiday and would like your subscription suspended. The rule is NEVER
send commands to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (the "list address"). You can
expect a lot of people to get upset if you consistently send commands to
the "list address."

4. COMMON COMMANDS

(a) Joining the List

You may subscribe to the list by filling out the form at
<aesthetics-online.org>. To subscribe to the list by email, send a
message to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with the following format:

subscribe aesthetics-l firstname lastname

Replace "firstname" and "lastname" with your name. (E.g. "subscribe
aesthetics-l John Dewey.")

(b) Leaving the List

You may leave the list at any time by filling out the form at
<aesthetics-online.org>. To leave the list by email, send a message to
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with the following format:

signoff aesthetics-l

(c) Daily Digests

At times traffic on the Aesthetics-L list can exceed ten messages a day.
If you wish to keep your in-box uncluttered, select the digest option.
Once a day you will be sent the day's messages as a single email prefaced
by a table of contents.

You may set the digest option by filling out the form at
<aesthetics-online.org>. To set the option by email, send a message to
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with the following format:

set aesthetics-l digest

To turn off the digest option and get broadcasts as separate messages,
send an email to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with the message:

set aesthetics-l nodigest

(d) The News Only Option

You may opt to receive ONLY news items--calls for papers, conference
announcements and the like.

You turn on the News Only option, you may fill out the form at
<aesthetics-online.org>. To set the option by email, send a message to
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with the following format:

set aesthetics-l topics: news

Note that the news only option does NOT work with the digest option.

If you wish to turn off the news only option and receive all broadcasts,
send an email to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with the message:

set aesthetics-l topics: all

(e) Suspending Email

This is an alternative to unsubscribing when you are TEMPORARILY unable
to read your email. You may suspend email by filling out the form at
<aesthetics-online.org>. To set this option by email, send a message to
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with the following format:

set aesthetics-l nomail

To restart the flow of messages, send a message to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
with the message:

set aesthetics-l mail

(f) Renewing Your Subscription

Most subscribers must renew their subscriptions once a year. You may
receive an email asking you if you wish to renew your subscription. If
you do, then FORWARD that email to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. Do not REPLY
to the email: it won't work!

You may also renew your subscription by filling out the form at
<aesthetics-online.org>.

(g) Changing Your Email Address

You may at some point change your email address. The change might be an
obvious one, if you leave school for instance, or less obvious, if your
institution changes email servers. The trouble is that listserv knows you
only by the email address you originally subscribed by.

The easiest way to update your subscription address is to use the web
form at <aesthetics-online.org> twice. First unsubscribe your old address
then subcribe using your new one.

(h) Finding Out Your Subscription Address

What if you don't remember what email address you originally used to
subscribe to Aesthetics-L? There is a web form to find out your original
subscription address. Alternatively, send an email to
