I clearly disagree with Miller's comment re Michael's grammar and writing. Why not try to write as well as we can? One of the great benefits of this list is the opportunity we have to arrange our ideas and express them as best we can. That leaves plenty of room for ungrammatical expressions and Mark Twainy syntax.
I also strongly disagree with Miller's attack on the passive voice. While active voice and first person writing can be assertive it also carries the virus of solipism or unsupported opinion. That sort of argument led by unreasoned opinion is the beginning of shouting and verbal fisticuffs. It is not the conversation of thoughtful people trying to understand difficulot concepts.
