Many thanks to Joseph for the introduction to Holland Carter. Quite a nifty writer, isn't he ? And a keen social critic.
But is he an aesthete ? His "notable events of 2008" do not include the discovery of any good, new artists - so if he's going to get all cynical about the flash-n-trash of the contemporary art scene, he's going to have to include himself. If historical art, like Rembrandt, is the only place where he can find something aesthetic to discuss, he's not looking hard enough. And that is the job of a critic (as opposed to a gossip columnist) ____________________________________________________________ Click to learn about options trading and get the latest information. http://thirdpartyoffers.netzero.net/TGL2231/fc/PnY6rc1m7UUafRA29BNivOJATUb65q UwZ4KGvk1gAp2NRuakwBfYg/
