Quick sketches are usually ,for me , extreme in feeling, but full of
aesthetic qualities, that I find must be compromised without
destroying those qualities all together. Not easy! but a must.

liberty.  Hitler liked the same idea.

I would say that without that extremism, all we'll get is
mediocrity.


Mediocrity is a special condition that's tough to define. But extremism is not the same as quality or innovation. If it is then you'd better retract your views re much contemporary art. I don't think your efforts to be witty
with words are supporting your views.
