I vaguely remember the Mies memorial, but can't remember having any response
other than amusement. A simple granite slab for Mr. "Less is more" -  how
appropriate! (actually -  it should have been a blank, black steel plate - but
probably the cemetery would not have allowed such a thing)

The thing to judge would be the typography, which looks no more than
acceptable in the photos on the net, but really requires another personal
visit (which I'll make the next time I go to see French's
statue for Marshall Field).

It's a shame that the super-wealthy no longer commission  extravagant
monuments for the cemetery -- because that is the best place for quiet,
peaceful, aesthetic meditation.
