By good end goal,I believe kelly means that art should become better and
better, till it reaches the ultimate taste. Art does not work that
way.
Aesthetics "generally" is like and "endless key board"on the piano and
we as artists create endless melodies to our taste, using the space and
sound. In our case, it would be color, form, and space. So art is
forever.
No two individuals can possibly create "identically alike'", So my
purpose
is to relate with what I personally perceive the general essence of
things, is.
I follow my own feeling of what balance in composition is to me, knowing
that it's an individual thing, but based on my conclusions from
experience.
I stay with the universal view point, that I presume most people
recognize,
colors, forms, etc.., and hopefully, that the symbol I create will be
felt, close
to what was Intended. If that sounds too simple, so be it, but thats me.

Certain cultural objects have "the power to reflect worthy values"
-- just as
a road map has the power to direct the traveler to his destination
- and this
why the discussion of such objects can become so heated, as if it
weren't just
a matter of differing taste, but different worthy values reflecting
different
conditions of moral character.
What can be said about people who have a taste for obsessively
cluttered
hellish images of ugly, deformed people often doing perverse,
cruel, and
violent things to each other? That's been a dominant theme in Chicago
pictorial art for half a century - and it interests me to compare
it with
medieval Christian and Buddhist depictions of similar stuff.
"I believe beauty can not be define to the satisfaction of everyone.
It's essence is an individual personal perception, and will remain so.
How can there be a good end goal to something we can't agree on?"
