I propped up the mirror directly in front of me, rather close, on the drawing
board to simply glance up and down. Some others are 3/4 view.

The drawing is exceptionally good. It's a delight to look at. The hair (and
beard and moustache, too) is really well done, especially at the upper left
(proper right). I like the way the lines that form the shadow on your nose and
cheek so nicely become your beard. The coloring of the lower lip, the weak
reflected light on your left temple, etc. Really nice. And ... your gaze is
fixed directly at the viewer. Whenever I've done a self-portrait, the mirror
has been off to one side, so I'm looking at the viewer in 3/4 view.
