Democratic pluralism is anarchy.  Nihilism is anarchy.  A direct democracy 
leads 
to tyranny.  A representative democracy is a safeguard against tyranny because 
it protects the interests of the minority, or pluralist interests, without 
enabling each to cancel the others.
