I'm not reading Art and Objecthood, I am reading Absorption & Theatricality Painting and Beholder in the Time of Diderot. I am reading it with particular attention to the possible relation of Fried's "absorption" to Kulvicki or Lopes' "seeing through. " I haven't finished "Absorption....." and since I am in Pittsburgh I don't expect to finish it before next week. And I don't think I have finished framing the question either. Kate Sullivan
