I am happy with ESET, it doesn’t cost enough to worry about free/freemium vs 
paid.  If you just get the basic AV version it’s $40/yr and $10 for each 
additional PC, also discounts for multiyear.  It pretty much stays in the 
background and does its thing.  Years ago I had Norton AV and it was very 
annoying.

It’s amazing how many major websites have links to bad places that you really 
wouldn’t know until it’s too late, but they get blocked.
