I was just trying to keep the unit intact. I have no particular problem sticking in a different connector.

The little tabs that clip into the hood are slightly different, but remarkably close to the original. Only about 1/16" difference. I was able to bend them just enough to hold securely. All in all, not a bad outcome considering.

I'm attempting to replace a couple of LED range hood lamps that are no longer made with something that comes close. The ones I found are very close to the right size, and right voltage, but they use the female version of this plug instead of the male version. If I can find matching plugs/sockets, I can just fab a pigtail, and I won't have to Frankenstein it (too much).
