We typically build our ice fishing house with something like these:

Atwood also makes these.

The key items are direct vent, forced air, and electronic ignition in my mind.
There are lots of Propane furnaces, but if they don't have a blower, they
don't get the space warm very fast. These require no pilot light, and can be
thermostat controlled. They can bring a 17 foot by 8 foot fishhouse from
negative 10 degrees to 60 or 70 degrees in less than 30 minutes. Taking the
same space from 30 degrees to 70 degrees can only take 10 - 15 minutes. Of
course those are insulated houses, but bringing all that material up to temp
takes some BTUs and air movement. These are typically set to run 12 volt.

Thanks,

David Coudron

Subject: [AFMUG] Propane heater

The electric heater in my splice trailer takes forever to heat the thing up to
comfortable levels.
What kind of propane powered heaters can be used inside a trailer without
killing people?
