Since Jaime reminded me about this thread.... My favorite application for canned Tamales is to dump the can in a pot, then dump a can of whole kernel corn over the top of that. The juices mix together making rather flavorful corn and mellows out the tamales as well.
Now if I could just figure out how to make a good quality bean and cheese burrito filling which was as yummy as a Lynn Wilson frozen burrito..... so far all attempts have been either 'bland' or 'oddly seasoned'. I guess 'not correct texture/consistency' also is common with my attempts. So I keep buying the frozen ones from the store when I can get them (the non Lynn Wilson ones are usually crap).
