Demo license is good for 60 days unless something has changed recently. Are you sure about the 48 hours?
License key activation has typically taken about 1 business day for me, it seems to depend on when in the day you submit the request. It definitely doesn't seem to be fully automated, there must be some human approval required at their end. But one time I forgot to activate the keys until the night before we were installing a link, and I didn't have the keys by install time, so I just used the demo license. It ran that way for about a month before I got around to applying the purchased keys. So I'm really questioning the 48 hour limit.
