I'm pretty sure I just got hit with this bug on a C2750 powered server, which is now essentially a brick, since the CPU is a BGA soldered to the motherboard. And reportedly it starts occurring after about 18 months, after a 1 year parts warranty has expired.
Does anyone know if these will all fail eventually, or just a percentage? Also, is it safe to assume that recent production has a fix? I know there's a newer 12-core C3850, but at a significantly higher price, and the C2750 was already hard to justify compared to something like a Celeron.
