If squirrels are not deterred by the outer layers of black walnuts, how bad can
this cable taste?

Is the fiber armored or just single jacket?

We have repaired a number of the ADSS cables that the school district ran that
have been chewed by squirrels. So far we have not seen any damage to the
armored cables that we replaced them with.

Commscope makes an ‘alternative jacket’ cable that apparently tastes bad.
Can’t say I have tried it (either installing it or eating it):

Had our first fiber cut yesterday. Squirrels chewed open our aerial fiber cable
in three places along a grass alley. I think this section will need some sort
of squirrel protection. What are others doing to protect their fiber in spots
like this?
