BFD seems to be every bit as fast as dropping the ethernet link (on Mikrotik, anyway)... on mikrotik it's just a matter of turning on one checkbox.
The only problem I have with that is getting it to drop when the capacity goes too low, but the link is still up (not specifically with Siklu though, I mainly have the problem on Ignitenets...)
