Hmmm, don’t recall hearing the term before. Never did understand how they got the circuit from the hole in the glass where the anode wires connect to the inside of the CRT. I guess the same way they got the pins in the back to come through the glass.

It’s the conductive coating on the inside of the CRT. Some kind of spray-on graphite.
