These days there's a fine line between hero and crook. It doesn't help that there are big investment funds like Softbank throwing tons of money around. The line between investing and gambling has also become very thin.
Companies like WeWork get away with portraying themselves as "space as a service" instead of what they really are, landlords. Ride hailing apps and electric scooters attract billions from investors. I just heard a TV commercial for "plant butter". Isn't that just margarine? Supposedly after some of the recent IPO disasters, there's a new mantra in Silicon Valley . profitability. And predictions of unicorn blood.
