I agree and generally use polarization. Polarity is for batteries, polarization is for wave phenomena.
It is cold here too, bored out of my gourd as my guys are more productive if I don’t hover or visit the job sites. I think I will go put a scope on a Rycom underground locator transmitter and see what the modulation looks like. I think it is AM for anything above 815 Hz. I want to make a test signal with my function generator as I have a bunch of receivers that need to be tested in the lab and I don’t want to use the big ole TX for lab bench tests. And I also want to test my new function generator. It does something like 90 MHz, a dozen different types of modulation including arbitrary functions. All for about $100. Lots of triggering options VCO amazing. Hmmm, 90 MHz.... FM.... I have a 120 KHz to 300 MHz linear 10 watt amplifier... Something drummed into my feeble brain from Freshman year of EE back in ought one - when discussing antennas or signals the correct term is polarization not polarity. Here’s a pretty good explanation for what its worth: https://www.rfvenue.com/blog/2015/07/01/polarization-polarity-and-polar-pattern-whats-the-difference I’ll go back to sleep now.. Lacking any other information, there is probably a higher percentage chance it is the transmitter that has the problem. bp<part15sbs{at}gmail{dot}com> On 11/19/2019 9:06 AM, Andreas Wiatowski wrote: Good Afternoon! It seems that I have a problem with a 600 series link…it will only run in single polarity. Just wondering how you diagnose which end is the problem? <image001.png> <image002.jpg> Internet. Phone. TV.
