We don’t use Nanostations as APs but we have some for links between customer
buildings and on grain legs shooting down to buildings that would otherwise be
in the shadow under the APs. Each generation of Nanostations has its issues
but M series was better than the ones before that, and AC series are better
than M series.

Rarely I’ve had a flaky POE, but I assume you aren’t just using a Ubiquiti POE
brick to power these, and it sounds like all the APs on this tower are
afflicted with the problem, not just one?

Each year we have a certain number of Nanostations fail, usually they just
become stupid, like the lights are on but nobody’s home. Occasionally I find
one that upon login displays some kind of message that it was unexpectedly
rebooted or something. That seems to be a prelude to it going permanently
stupid. Or I saw one that the CPU would ramp up to 100% CPU over the first
minute or so after a reboot and it would start exhibiting packet loss and high
latency. All these cases the fix was to replace the radio and throw the old
one away. That’s one good thing about Nanostations, they’re like goldfish, you
just flush them, not enough $$$ to worry about.

If you have all the Nanostations at a tower all doing it, that’s weird.

sometimes with really old firmware

but most of the time it's a cable issue or a faulty RJ-45

I have a couple of repeater sites with Nanostation M2s acting as APs. The
Nanostations are connected to Mikrotik Powerbox Pros. The Nanostations
randomly reboot, while everything else at the site including the Powerboxes
stay online. Is anyone else seeing anything similar?
