This goes all the way back to mediatek. We're all waiting on firmware from mediatek to solve this issue. Like others have said, hopefully within the next 4 years.
And yes, it should have been tested. Interestingly, very few other industries were affected. Apparently some drones were not happy. Most other industries don't rely on a continuously operational GPS system, so they were less affected. For instance tracking only turns on the GPS when trackingis needed, such as when a vehicle is in motion.
