BIPAP actually sounds better, I wonder if they aren’t using it because the aerosolizing puts healthcare workers at more risk and maybe a lack of negative pressure rooms.
I also fear that with relatives locked out, healthcare directives are being ignored and people are being intubated who specified they didn’t want it. And at that point they have you sedated until you either can be extubated or you die. What I say about people who didn’t want intubation or resuscitation may be unrealistic if they also can’t provide palliative care and the person is gasping for breath.
