I realized last night that at some point no amount of documentation is going to help the next guy.  He'll either be able to understand what he's seeing or he won't.  If you drew me perfectly detailed pictures of a jet turbine I still wouldn't understand all the nuance of it.  Maybe it's likewise with some of this network stuff.
