World being black and white reminded me of a movie, at first I thought it
was Blast from the Past, but then realized I was thinking of Pleasantville.

And of course there's Wizard of Oz. I actually saw that dozens of times
before realizing Kansas was in B&W and Oz was in color.

My poor kids are all millenials. They are pretty typical too. They all
know my "advice and history" speeches by heart. I drilled the need for
education into them.

I came from a poor dry land dirt farm background. Farm house and out
buildings did not have paint on them. Toilet was out the kitchen door and
up the hill. Orygun hillbilly. And we were one of the rich ones. Landed
gentry.

I tell them the world was in black and white until the 70s. My dad had
distain for the educated and religious. I guess that is how I rebelled.
