A feature of Supreme Court justices is that, although they may be
appointed for someone else's political gain, once they're there they
don't really have to listen to anybody. They won't make a choice
between backing Trump or backing gun rights, they'll do what they think
is legally correct.
If we think that's NOT true, then the nation is super duper screwed. I
personally think that'll be true up until such time as politicians
decide they can remove justices for making decisions they didn't like.
