I’m having this mental image of an “Internet of Things” party going on while
we’re not home, similar to the movie Toy Story.

Or in the case of appliances, maybe Brave Little Toaster. Except now Kirby
would be replaced by Roomba, who can venture outside without a cord. And Radio
would maybe be an Echo Dot.

In any case they are all conspiring behind our backs and without our knowledge,
and talking with things in other houses over the Internet. I hope they don’t
get an attitude. Oops, now I’m thinking of Bender from Futurama. And it’s
just about the time of year for Robot Santa.

It’s probably using multicast to announce and discover other devices. Kind of
like apple’s bonjour protocol etc. This is probably normal behavior but I’d
check with the manufacturer to be sure.

You’d be surprised how much multicast is running around without your knowledge.

Can someone give me more information on this IP?

Thanks
