We use slack for much more than just a messaging platform. We built bots for integrating with everything and pushing notices to channels. Couple of examples:
- On DDOS attacks, notices get pushed to our NetOps channel when it hits and stops. - We have a solarbot that queries our solar sites and reports on all the voltages from one command. - We have a “promos” bot that sales folks can ask for “what’s the current promos?" - Push notices from ticketing, phone system, etc - Config changes from routers/switches - DFS hits from radios get sent automatically to the channel.
