I've been using the Ubiquiti shielded connectors for a few years, no issues. For crimpers I've been using the platinum tools racheting ez-rj45 model - it works just fine with standard (non-ez-rj45) connectors as well. If you've got some fairly inexperienced folks out there the pass through connectors might be a decent idea. They make no difference for me personally though.
