I have several of the 317's deployed. I have not had any issues with them. Running in ROS mode, but only doing bridge/vlans They hand off to a CCR1009 SFP+ for all routing. The Throughput specs are just slightly lower with the 309, but is that just because it has fewer ports to move the traffic?

we just got in some of the 309s for this. I dont know jack about mikrotik switches, but it seems it will suit the purpose for now. it will connect to a 4011 sfp+ port for at the routing magic.

Do you like the 317? the 309 is just its little brother isnt it?

I've been using Edgepoint S16 with great success for several
    years, but
they only have 2 10G SFP Ports on them. More of our backhaul radios
have 10G optics, and the EPMP radios have 1G fiber, so I'm looking
    for
an outdoor Multiport SFP+ swtich. Are there any options out there
similar to the Edgepoint with more SFP+ ports?

The Mikrotik Fiberbox only has 5 1G ports and I've had a lot of
    issues
with them with packetloss and High CPU, and the Mikrotik Netpower 16P
only has 2 SFP+ Ports just like the edgepoint.

At most sites I can run new fiber cables all the way down to the
    ground
and plug them into a CRS317-1G-16S+ in my cabinet. But a couple
    sites
we want to upgrade this year, new cables are challenging to
    install. We
already have Fiber/DC at the top running the edgepoint. Just need
    a way
to get more fiber ports at the top to connect to the radios. I'm
thinking about putting a CRS309-1G-8S+IN in and outdoor enclosure, it
looks like it can power via POE from the edgepoint.
