this morning I changed the tv input source from roku to the cable box
and the sound stayed with the roku. Never seen that before. Had to
unplug the roku to get the audio from the cable box to come through.
It's not just the roku, but the smart tv just got stupid too.

my roku has lately been causing the sound-bar to break. Every time I
go to change channels it's a fight over getting sound to work again.
Damn thing wants to control everything. It's really tempting to use
it for target practice.

Roku has completely broken HDCP before as well. It usually takes them
1-2 days to fix it (via a new software update).

Our roku (a 2000-series box, so not apples-to-apples) screws up
the home page whenever it gets a software update. Rebooting it
gets it back to "normal". I know not the same, but I get the
impression that their software development and update process is
sort of fast and loose.

Looks like It got a software update last week, and now I have
to reboot
the ROKU (4800x - Roku ultra) every time I go to use it. If
I don't, it
either gives an HDCP HDMI error when it tries to start a
stream with the
solution of swapping the ends of the HDMI cable, or puts the
content in
a 1080 letterboxed window in the corner of the 4k display.
After the
reboot it's fine for the duration of the stream, but then
once it's gone
to sleep it has to be rebooted again.
Search results online were like 'uninstall and reinstall all
Apps', but
this sounds more like a system software issue.
