I guess it’s like how every microwave has a popcorn button, but every bag of
microwave popcorn says “don’t use the popcorn button”.

The people who’s VoIP worked out of the box with no issues are using SIP ALG
because it’s on by default and they had no need to disable it. The people who
have a problem are told “disable SIP ALG” and apparently it helps a lot of them.

There are elevnty billion self help articles on the Internet advising people to
disable SIP ALG’s in their routers if they’re having dropped calls or audio
problems.

…..but why then does every single router have this feature and have it enabled
by default?
