Watts != btu.  You're thinking in terms of resistance heating.

A mini-split is FAR more efficient in a particular range.  The ones I've
gotten in the last 4 years are incredibly efficient at ~40-80 degrees.
They're still decent at -8 through 40.  Not too good when colder than -8,
but it'll still heat.
