You can send the Alpha units back for repairs. I believe it currently costs $500.
The Sierra racks as normal, 1U for the Sierra 10 enclosure with up to 5 modules. It has a full HTTP/SNMP/SMTP monitoring interface assuming you insert an Inview-S as a module, the best I’ve seen. AC/DC cabling comes from the back or side. But sometimes they fail and we have to replace them entirely. Wish someone out there was good a repairing the FXM units, seems like a waste to just pull and shelve them. I’m liking the look of that Sierra system, but a bit unsure of how it racks or is monitored? Normally I'd use a few 3000W APCs with external batteries. This location has a backup generator but would prefer 45+ minutes of uptime on the servers on batteries alone. What is the current recommendation?
