how is that an issue with phpbb??? You can link directly to fb , twit
or what ever from phpbb, the administrator sets that up. The forum can
save any kind of data you may ever want to where it's easy to find.
Drawings, files, photos, jokes, databases, easily findable (after all,
it's a huge filing cabinet available at the touch of a finger) and you
can have email notices when somebody posts something you're watching.

As I'm not a regular user of most of those platforms, I miss out
on those discussions. I really want a feed aggregator where I
can visit a page and see all the new stuff no matter where it came
from. Bonus points if I can also follow the comments on sites
like Facebook.

better than a mailing-list. You can post stuff for reference
for all the members to read and see and you don't have to
worry about FB changing the game-plan on you or worry about

I'm in some of the fb groups. I just haven't figured out how
to consistently remember to drop by and see what is going
on, and also how to get FB to reliably feed me what's
actually new in the groups I actually want to follow. I
realize the second part is likely "the algorithm" doing its
job and also my lack of active Facebook usage causing me to
not have the experience that others do in following all of
these discussions.
I keep hoping someone will come up with a magic service that
can tell me about all the things I might want to read on all
the platforms. I know some of the social media aggregators
are pretty good, but last I played with them they really
were about managing a social medial presence instead of
reading social media.
