They have funded other wisps in this same auction. The real problem was that starlink was granted permission to bid at the 100/25 tier, with the same latency as a ground based wisp. So if you were bidding at 100/25 or less, starlink could basically outlive you as a bidder since I'm sure they were look at this as free money.
This is especially true if you bid at a lower tier and was bidding at a disadvantage.
