The ones we use for fiber will take up to 250 lbs of pressure. They have O
rings in them.

There are couplers for HDPE. The ones I've seen are not great at holding any
kind of pressure or seal as it were, but they exist.

There are compounds that claim to be able to glue hdpe, but they require you
to buff and then burn the outer surface with a torch. That converts it to a
molecule that is polar enough to glue. So you still are not actually gluing
hdpe but this other compound that is thermally created from hdpe. I cannot
imagine the bond to be very strong.

Hdpe cannot be glued.

Will try that, I figured they would stick together at that point.
I've used couplers, but they're not deep enough and it doesn't bind
together the same way the flared end does with HDPE.

if you just need the flared end of a pvc pipe you can take a 1ft piece
and sand one end down to give the edge 45 degree or greater edges, then you
just heat up 3in of pipe and jam the beveled piece against it and it will flare
out

Basically looking for a way to use the rest. It looks like PVC is about
300-400% higher than last time I bought it. I'll check out the flaring tools,
there might be some options there.
I guess it is nice to know I'm not the only one doing it that way, I
just thought that there might be a more structured method.

Lots of companies do it this way as well.
Are you looking for a way to use the half stick you are throwing away?
Or a replacement for the PVC?
There are pex flaring tools that might be able to flare the PVC if
you heat it, I think that is what TJ Trout is suggesting.
On amazon there is this tool:
VOTOER Hydraulic Tube Expander Tool 7 Lever HVAC Swaging Kit 3/8 to
1-1/8inch Copper Tube Expander Tool with Tube Cutter and Deburring Tool
Would a stick of metal electrical conduit be any cheaper (EMT). Not
sure if irrigation funny pipe comes in sizes that large.
Non split smurf tube?

Does anyone have a good solution for this?
My drop conduit is 3/4" HDPE, but my ONT closure accepts 1" PVC. I
had been just using the flared end of a stick of PVC and tension fitting it to
the HDPE, but with PVC prices skyrocketing I'd like to find a better way to do
this since I use a 10ft stick for each install and then throw the rest away.
