I am thinking that the wound plate and separator were part of the ability to freeze with damage. That batt looks like a regular gel cell. I used them perhaps 20 years ago. They seemed to work fine.

Nowadays I’d build a shed if there’s space, or use DDB Unlimited if there isn’t. I get to play with big boy money now.
